{"id":480,"date":"2022-07-04T06:38:06","date_gmt":"2022-07-04T13:38:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/molinos.net\/?page_id=480"},"modified":"2026-03-02T03:20:06","modified_gmt":"2026-03-02T11:20:06","slug":"our-chadima-family","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/molinos.net\/?page_id=480","title":{"rendered":"Our &#8220;CHADIMA&#8221; Family"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color has-background has-larger-font-size\" style=\"background-color:#b8ef6c\"><strong>Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The oldest relative we have positively identified is<a href=\"https:\/\/ellosynos.com\/familytree\/tree\/moluga\/individual\/I22\/Franz-J-Chadima\"><strong>Franz Joseph Chadima<\/strong><\/a>(1825-1911) who emigrated to North America from Bohemia (now the Czech Republic) after his father received <strong>permission<\/strong> in 1856 to exempt him from the tax roles. On Aug 10, 1857 Franz, a professional musician, married <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ellosynos.com\/familytree\/tree\/moluga\/individual\/I23\/Marie-Teresa-Wilhamina\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/molinos.net\/familytree\/tree\/moluga\/individual\/I23\/Marie-Teresa-Wilhamina\">Marie Theresa<\/a><\/strong> (1829-1919) at Old St. Mary\u00b4s catholic church at Chicago, Illinois, Those records burned in the 1871 Chicago fire .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Franz served in the Union Army as a <strong>drummer<\/strong> during the U.S. Civil War. After the war, the couple moved to the Pacific Northwest and homesteaded near Kalama, Washington State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their only male son, Frank Chadima had no descendants. Daughter Isabelle had one girl. Their second daughter, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ellosynos.com\/familytree\/tree\/moluga\/individual\/I20\/Blanche-Rose-Chadima\">Blanche Rose Chadima<\/a><\/strong> (1877-1964), married three times. Her first marriage, with <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ellosynos.com\/familytree\/tree\/moluga\/individual\/I19\/Joseph-Archer-Nesbit\">Joseph Archer Nesbit<\/a><\/strong> (1855-1945), gave two sons with male descendants: the Nesbit-Heuchart, Nesbit-XMary branches, and three daughters producing the <strong>Hamm-Nesbit<\/strong> and the <strong>Segar-Nesbit<\/strong> branches. She did research at the Prague archives with the assistance of a local expert and met M. Chadima, a serious genealogist who over decades had built a Chadima family tree going back to the 1600\u00b4s. That Chadima family originated from Siroky Dul, a rural sparsely populated area of the Pardubice Region. To 2022 we have not been able to confirm or deny a linkage between our Franz and the ancestors in that <a href=\"https:\/\/molinos.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/rodokmen-Chadimu.received-Oct-202021-frm-Pavel-Chadima-cc-MartinKHM.pdf\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/molinos.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/rodokmen-Chadimu.received-Oct-202021-frm-Pavel-Chadima-cc-MartinKHM.pdf\"><strong>family tree<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color has-background has-larger-font-size\" style=\"background-color:#b8ef6c\"><strong><strong>Research Priorities<\/strong><\/strong>  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We would like to collaborate with known and new Chadima family researchers in the Czech Republic, North America or elsewhere.
